Chesneys Photoshoot

Ruth Chesney lives in rural Northern Ireland with her husband, Samuel, a crazy Springer Spaniel and some hens. As someone who has always had a deep love for books, Ruth appreciates the simple pleasure of getting lost in a good story. A believer in the Lord Jesus Christ since the age of eleven, Ruth enjoys participating in the various activities of her local church. Her other interests include walking in the Irish countryside, growing vegetables and learning about other cultures and time periods. Her favourite food is chocolate and she prefers drinking milk to tea or coffee any day! Many of Ruth’s happy childhood memories involve time spent on her relatives’ dairy farms, and her love of livestock, and dairy cattle in particular, shows through in her writing.

Ruth has written Climb, a one year devotional for teens and young adults, and the Search for Truth Series for teenagers, as well as a collection of picture books about a little boy named Harry for younger children which have been charmingly illustrated by Mary Weatherup. All books are published by John Ritchie Ltd. Her main goal in writing is not only to entertain, but to instil the gospel into young minds. Ruth also recognises the pressure that young people are facing to embrace the atheistic teachings which are so prevalent in our world today, and endeavours to counteract that influence by including relevant and helpful apologetics arguments in her books for teens. Her prayer is that in all things God would be glorified, both in the salvation of souls and in young lives being lived for the Lord Jesus Christ.
